Habib Nasir is a visual artist based in Karachi, Pakistan. Having received no formal education in the field of art, Habib realised his passion for design while working at the book shop at the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture. He began his journey as a self taught designer and received informal mentorship from the Fine Art faculty of the Institute who saw his potential.

His work follows a mixed media approach as he takes photographs of his observations around the city to create intricate pieces that he categorises as social commentaries. Each work of his tells a story or conveys an important message as he uses his practice to express what he can’t say about pressing issues and affairs around the world, especially in his country. Some of the themes and topics explored in his work range from overpopulation and rapid urbanisation that have slowly changed the landscape of Karachi, to the often unnoticed impact of patriarchy that he has observed in his day to day affairs amongst the people around him.

Habib has now exhibited in various group shows in Pakistan, as well as internationally in Dubai, Canada and the UK.
