Manizhe is a multi-disciplinary artist, with a bachelors in fine arts from the Indus Valley School of Art & Architecture (IVS) in Karachi and a masters in Visual and Media Anthropology from the Freie Universität, Berlin, Germany. Her early career focused on film; she started her career in media and worked as a producer for 7 years. Manizhe then switched to academia and joined IVS as Head of the Film Department.
“As an artist, there is a constant need to tell stories and each story demands its own medium.” Manizhe's belief translates into her own art practice as she works with a multitude of mediums such as film, photography, painting, installation and performance to express and narrate her stories.
With an inclination towards design, she also practiced the art of jewelry making and has started her own jewelry brand. She works closely with a local craftsman who has spent several years practicing the art of hand cut jewelry made of gold. Using the same technique, she applies it to silver, brass and copper materials and creates unique jewelry designs inspired by bold sculptures and modern architecture. Presently, she is designing and producing sculptural jewelry for Odd Bird Art.
